Lady Rams Softball drops twin bill to Georgia College

Albany, Georgia- The Albany State Lady Rams were defeated in a doubleheader by the Georgia College Lady Bobcats, the 10th-ranked team in the nation, by the scores of 15-1 and 5-0. With the pair of losses, ASU falls to 10-11, while GC improves to 30-4.

Albany State started well in the first game by taking a 1-0 lead after the first inning. The Lady Rams scored that run when Toni Coleman belted a single to score Tiffany Massey.
 
However, the rest of the contest belonged to Georgia College. After tying the score in the second inning, the Lady Bobcats exploded for eight runs in the third inning to take a 9-1 lead. GC added three runs apiece in the fourth and fifth innings to end the game via the eight run-fifth inning rule.
 
The Lady Rams only collected five hits and committed six errors. Alexa Lopez was the losing pitcher.

The Lady Rams were able to keep the Lady Bobcats' scoring down in the second game, but they could not muster any runs of their own. Georgia College jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning. GC added two more runs in the top of the fifth inning and another one in the seventh.
 
Albany State only recorded three hits and committed three errors.
 
Albany State returns to action on Tuesday, March 24 when it travels to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to face Nova Southeastern University in a doubleheader. The first pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
