Albany State Football announces 2015 signees

Albany, GA- Albany State interim head football coach Dan Land has announced the program's 2015 signees.

"We have a large number of talented student-athletes who will join us this fall," Land said. "What is really impressive about this group is they are dedicated to the game of football, but they are also solid academicians in the classroom."

The Golden Rams have signed a total of 20 in-state student-athletes. From that group, almost 30 percent are classified as Georgia HOPE scholars.

"The fact that several of these student-athletes are doing well in the classroom shows their commitment," Land continued. "It also shows that their high school coaching staffs and teachers have taken a high interest in their education."

Five of the Albany State recruits are local products. Two of those signees, Damion Adams and Taif Smith, led Colquitt County High School to the Georgia High School Class AAAAAA championship in December.

"It's always a good thing when a college program can bring in student-athletes who come from winning programs where they are expected to work hard and make improvements toward winning championships," Land stated. "We are confident this group will help continue our success.
