Lady Rams tame Tuskegee Tigerettes on Senior Night

Albany, GA- Senior point guard Mecca Frost recorded her first career triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the Albany State Lady Rams to a 78-55 victory over the Tuskegee Tigerettes on Senior Night. With the win, ASU has now won 10 consecutive games (14 of its last 15) and finishes the regular season with a 16-9 record. TU falls to 2-24.
 
Albany State made short work of Tuskegee in the early going. The Lady Rams jumped out to an 8-0 lead and continued to dominate as the game progressed. At the 3:48 mark of the first half, ASU owned a 22-point edge at 35-13. The team held a 39-23 advantage at halftime.
 
In the second half, the Lady Rams continued to dominate the Tigerettes. Albany State led by as many as 27 points and never let Tuskegee back into contention.
 
Artisha Holston recorded her 14th double-double of the season with 13 points and 19 rebounds. Keidra Green added another 13 points.
 
The Lady Rams shot 26-of-43 (41.3%) from the field, 2-of-11 (18.2%) from three-point range, and 24-of38 (63.2%) from the free throw line. The team had a season-high 17 steals and held Tuskegee to 31.7% shooting.
 
Albany State returns to action on Thursday, March 5 when it travels to Birmingham, Alabama to participate in the 2015 SIAC Women's Basketball Championship Tournament. The Lady Rams will face the winner of the Clark Atlanta-Stillman winner in the quarterfinal round at 5:30 p.m.
