Golden Rams Baseball falls to Florida Southern

Albany, GA- Jeremy Arrington led the team with three hits, but the Albany State Golden Rams dropped a 22-3 decision to the Florida Southern Mocs. With the loss, ASU falls to 1-11 overall.  Florida Southern improves to 5-5.
 
Albany State scored its first run in the bottom of the first inning when Ryan Latner came home on an error by the FSC pitcher to take a 1-0 lead. Florida Southern tied the game in the top of the second inning.
 
After a scoreless third and fourth innings, the Mocs exploded for 15 runs in the top of the fifth to take a 16-1 lead. Reise McDaniel's hit scored Emmanuel Santos in the bottom of the fifth, but the team still trailed 16-2.
 
Florida Southern added six more runs in the top of the seventh inning for a 22-2 advantage. Terrance Worthy scored a final run for ASU in the bottom of the inning, but the game was called after that due to the 10-run rule.
 
Santos recorded two hits for the Golden Rams. Arrington took the mound loss. Albany State recorded seven hits and committed two errors.
 
Albany State returns to action on Saturday, February 21 when they host Florida Southern in a doubleheader. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
