Golden Rams lose eighth straight game after loss to Division I Stetson

DELAND, Fla- Seniors Earl Farnum and Dominique Pollard each scored 16 points, but the Albany State Golden Rams dropped a 95-69 decision to the Stetson University Hatters. With the loss, ASU extends its losing streak to eight games and falls to 1-8 overall.
 
The Hatters, who compete in the Atlanta Sun Conference of Division I, improves to 4-7.
 
Albany State had to fight an uphill battle from the start of the contest. The Golden Rams trailed 15-2 with less than three minutes expired off the game clock. ASU did rally a few minutes later and trailed only 17-15 at the 13:03 mark.
 
Stetson would answer their visitors' run in a big way. The Hatters used a combination of outside shooting and high percentage shots inside to build a commanding 59-32 lead at halftime. Albany State could not recover to make a serious run in the second half.
 
Michael Green led the team in rebounding with 11 and chipped in with four points. Khaliq Hughes added five points and seven assists, and Jordan Floyd had nine points.
 
The Golden Rams shot 25-of-68 (36.8%) from the field, 8-of-27 (29.6%) from three-point range and 11-of-18 (61.1%) from the free throw line.
 
Divine Myles led a list of six double digit scorers for Stetson with a game-high 18 points.
 
Albany State will be idle until Dec. 31 when it hosts Point University at ASU HPER Gymnasium. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
