Lady Rams sweep Paine College

AUGUSTA, Ga.- Kristin Randolph and Brittianni Phillips combined for 17 kills to lead the Albany State women's volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-15 and 25-16) victory over the Paine College Lady Lions. With the win, the Lady Rams reach .500 for the first time this season with an overall record of 10-10.  The team is now 8-3 in the SIAC.
 
Paine falls to 10-8, 5-6.
 
Phillips led the team with a game-high nine kills, while Randolph added another eight. Setter Tiffany Roesler had 30 assists, and Kaliah Carter led the team defensively with eight kills.
 
Tiera Daugherty had six kills for the Lady Lions. Totyanna Corbitt led the Lady Lions in assists with nine, and Kayla Lewis was the top defensive player with seven digs.
 
Albany State is idle until Tuesday, Oct. 13 when it hosts the Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers at ASU HPER Gymnasium. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
