Golden Rams' season ends in SIAC Tournament

Junior guard Larry Bullock scored a team-high 13 points, but the Albany State Golden Rams saw their season come to an end via a 73-62 loss to Kentucky State in the quarterfinal round of the 2014 SIAC Men's Basketball Tournament. With the setback, ASU finishes the season at 15-13. KSU improves to 15-13 and advances to the tournament semifinals to face Tuskegee University.
Albany State jumped out to an early 9-0 lead in the first half. KSU eventually chipped away at the lead and took a 16-15 lead at the 10:11 mark. Joe Williams' made three free throws to help the Golden Rams regain the lead at 25-22 with 3:22 remaining in the first half. However, the Thorobreds finished the half on a 7-0 run to take a 29-25 halftime advantage.
In the second half, Kentucky State built a 40-33 lead before Bullock tied the score at 41 all at the 12:20 mark. The Thorobreds led 64-55 with 2:54 left in regulation, but the Golden Rams answered with 7-1 run to cut their deficit to 65-62 with 2:03 left to play.
KSU finished to game on 8-0 run.
Jamorris Gaines added 12 points and eight rebounds, and Williams finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
The Golden Rams shot 19-54 (35.2%) from the field, 5-12 (41.7%) from three-point range, and 19-24 (79.2%) from the free throw line.
Seniors Gaines, Williams, James Lodman, Justin Udi, Derry Thorpe, Eric Martin, Rachard Lofton and Curtis Fluker played their final game for Albany State.
