ALBANY, GA- Senior Jennifer Evans recorded 14 kills and nine digs, but the Albany State Lady Rams were defeated by the Claflin University Lady Panthers 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-11 and 25-21) on ASU's Senior Day. With the loss, the Lady Rams dip to 12-10 overall and 10-5 in the SIAC. With its victory over Albany State, Claflin claims the SIAC East Division championship and will be the No. 1 seed on that side during the 2014 SIAC tournament.
Kristen Randolph added 14 kills for Albany State, and Malikah Drummond had 38 assists to go along with seven digs. Kaliah Carter led the team defensively with 24 kills, and Tamara also had 10.
Seniors Evans, Ariana McCurty and Mikala Flonnoy played their final home game at ASU.
Albany State returns to action on Monday, November 3rd when they travel to Fort Valley, Georgia to face archrival Fort Valley State University. The Lady Rams swept the Lady Wildcats 3-0 in their initial meeting earlier this season. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
