BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Kristen Randolph had a game-high 16 kills to lead the Albany State Lady Rams to a 3-1 (25-17, 19-25, 25-20 and 25-12) victory over the Tuskegee Tigerettes in the first round of the 2014 SIAC Women's Volleyball Tournament. With the win, ASU improves to 15-11 overall and advances to face the Claflin-Miles winner on Tuesday at 12 p.m.
Tuskegee drops to 13-15 on the season and will face the Claflin-Miles loser on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Jennifer Evans narrowly missed another double-double with 12 kills and nine digs for Albany State. Setter Malikah Drummond recorded 39 assists and six digs. Kaliah Carter, the 2014 Defensive Player of the Year, led the team in that category with 14 digs, while Keveena Jackson added 13 more.
