Juniors Adrian Alexander and Phillip Moore and sophomore Ryan Latner have been recognized for their play during the Albany State Golden Rams' 34-13 win over Elizabeth City State University in Week 3. Alexander was named the SIAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Moore and Latner received honorable mention.
Leading Albany State to its first win of the season, Alexander, a 5'10, 195-lb running back from Macon, Georgia, rushed for a game-high 126 yards and a touchdown on only 10 carries. For the game, he averaged 12.6 yards per carry and added a long run of 40 yards.
Moore, a 5-5, 180-lb running back from Valdosta, Georgia, rushed for 91 yards on 14 carries to help add more efficiency to the Golden Rams' running game against Elizabeth City State. Latner, a 6'0, 160-lb punter from Melrose, Florida, had a 40.5 average on four punts for a total of 162 yards. Latner had a long of 47 yards and nailed three punts inside the 30 yard-line.
Alexander, Moore, Latner and the rest of the Golden Rams will travel to Birmingham, Alabama this Saturday, September 28th to take on the Miles College Golden Bears. Game time is slated for 6 p.m. (central time).
