FORT VALLEY, GEORGIA- Sophomore Keidra Green scored 13 points, but the Albany State Lady Rams dropped a 53-34 decision to the 25th-ranked Rollins College Lady Tars in the SIAC-Sunshine State Classic. With the loss, ASU drops to 1-1 on the season. Rollins improves to 2-0.
The Lady Tars led 10-4 after the first five minutes, but the Lady Rams came charging back to lead 12-10 just three minutes later. Rollins regained control and led 25-15 at intermission.
The advantage for the Lady Tars increased to 35-19 with 16:33 to play but Albany State came back to cut its deficit to 36-30 midway through the second.
Rollins later led 40-34 after a Green layup with 7:26 to play. However, ASU would not score another point the rest of the way.
Artisha Holston recorded a game-high 17 rebounds to go along with six points.
The Lady Rams return to action on November 30th-December 1st when they participate in the Peach Belt-SIAC Challenge in Americus on the campus of Georgia Southwestern University. Albany State will play Georgia Southwestern on Saturday at 4 p.m. and Columbus State University at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
