Jason Bryant

Jason Bryant is entering his fifth season at the helm of the Lady Golden Rams Softball Program, continuing to build Albany State University into one of the premier programs in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and beyond.

Under his leadership, the Lady Golden Rams have made significant strides both in the win column and in national recognition. In the 2025 season, Albany State advanced to the semi-final round of the SIAC Championship Tournament, showcasing the program’s consistent competitiveness in postseason play. During the 2024 season, the Lady Golden Rams were a dominant force offensively, earning the #1 national ranking in NCAA Division II for team batting average. The squad also ranked 5th nationally in stolen bases per game and 8th in total stolen bases, with standout player Madison Hurt leading all of Division II in stolen bases per game.

Bryant arrived at Albany State with a wealth of head coaching experience from stints at Fort Valley State University and Brewton-Parker College, amassing over 400 career wins and earning Coach of the Year honors four times. At Fort Valley State, he took over a struggling program that had won only six games in the two seasons prior to his arrival and transformed it into a competitive force. In just his first year (2018), the Wildcats posted 16 wins, followed by 18 wins in 2019—their highest total since 2011—and secured their first SIAC Championship Tournament appearance in five years. His tenure also included a dual role as head coach for women’s volleyball.
Before his success at Fort Valley State, Bryant led Brewton-Parker College for 13 seasons, where his teams combined for 370 wins. Notably, his 300th career victory came against Fort Valley State on March 4, 2013.

The Anniston, Alabama native attended Westside High School in Augusta, Georgia, and went on to play basketball at Tomlinson College in Cleveland, Tennessee, before graduating from Brewton-Parker College. He later earned a Master’s degree in Theology. He has two sons, Jordon and Jevon, one daughter, Haydon, and two granddaughters.
