Lady Golden Rams Dominate Opening Day with Doubleheader Sweep of Allen

Albany, Ga. - The Albany State Lady Golden Rams opened their conference series in commanding fashion, sweeping a doubleheader against Allen University with a pair of impressive run-rule victories, 9-0 and 9-1, in Albany, Ga. From explosive offense to dominant pitching, Albany State put together a complete performance on both sides of the ball.

In game one, the Lady Golden Rams wasted no time setting the tone. Arianah McKenzie sparked the offense early, crossing home plate on an RBI triple from Avery Fisher to give Albany State the early lead. Moments later, Tranasia Parker delivered a powerful two-run home run, and Ansleigh Mason followed with a three-run blast of her own, capping a six-run first inning that firmly established control.

Albany State continued to build on its momentum with disciplined at-bats and aggressive baserunning. Parker added a sacrifice fly in the second, while Fisher and Kyla Fitch each contributed RBI hits to extend the lead.

In the circle, McKenzie Fitch was outstanding, tossing a complete-game shutout. She allowed just two hits while keeping Allen off balance throughout, securing the 9-0 win with confidence and efficiency.

The momentum carried seamlessly into game two, as Albany State once again struck early. Parker and Fitch each recorded RBIs in the first inning, capitalizing on early opportunities to give the Lady Golden Rams the advantage.

After Allen managed a run in the third, Albany State responded immediately. Mackenzie Nervis powered a two-run home run to extend the lead, and the offense continued to roll in the fifth inning. Parker delivered another highlight moment with a three-run home run, showcasing her power at the plate. Abbigale Jones added an RBI double, and Mason contributed a sacrifice fly to cap off another dominant scoring stretch.

In the circle, Tamia Pierce was equally impressive, going the distance while allowing just one unearned run. Her poise and control helped keep Allen in check, sealing the 9-1 victory and completing the sweep.

Across both games, the Lady Golden Rams displayed a balanced attack—timely hitting, power throughout the lineup, and strong pitching performances. The team's ability to jump out early and maintain pressure proved to be the difference, highlighting their depth and confidence as they continue conference play.

Albany State will look to carry this momentum into day two as they return to the field to conclude the series with game three at 12:00 p.m.
