Columbia, S.C. — The Albany State Lady Golden Rams opened conference play, sweeping Benedict College in a three-game series and extending their impressive winning streak. After a commanding Game 1 performance, Albany State continued its offensive surge and late-game poise with a 15-6 victory in Game 2 and a gritty 5-4 win in Game 3 to complete the sweep.
With the series victory, the Lady Golden Rams improved to 13-2 overall and 3-0 in SIAC play, carrying strong momentum back home.
Game 2: Albany State 15 – Benedict 6
Albany State's offense once again proved explosive and relentless, scoring in five different innings on the way to a 15-run outburst. The Lady Golden Rams tallied 14 hits and drew 10 walks, showcasing both power and patience at the plate.
Mackenzie Nervis delivered a standout performance, going 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, and a game-high four RBIs to pace the offense.
Tranasia Parker added a home run of her own and finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Kenzie Fitch was nearly flawless at the plate, collecting three hits and driving in a run while reaching base four times.

McKenzie Fitch earned the win in relief, moving to 4-0 on the season. She tossed 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and shutting the door down the stretch to secure the victory.
Game 3: Albany State 5 – Benedict 4
The Lady Golden Rams struck early, manufacturing runs with aggressive base running and situational hitting.
Kaylah Howard set the tone at the top of the lineup, scoring twice and swiping three stolen bases to pressure the defense from the opening inning. Ari McKenzie added a key double and later scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning.
Avery Fisher had a productive weekend, going 1-for-3 with an RBI single, while Abbi Jones drove in two key runs, including a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning to give Albany State a 5-4 lead. The Lady Golden Rams' speed and aggressive base running kept Benedict under constant pressure.
