Albany State Softball Completes Series Sweep Over Baptist University of Florida

Albany, Ga. — The Albany State Lady Golden Rams delivered an exciting day of softball at home, securing a doubleheader sweep over Baptist University of Florida on Saturday at the ASU Softball Complex. Albany State claimed a hard-fought 6–4 victory in Game 1 before dominating Game 2 with an emphatic 8–0 shutout.

The opener tested Albany State's resilience as Baptist University of Florida applied steady pressure throughout the contest. The Lady Golden Rams responded with timely hitting and poised execution in key moments.
 
Albany State used a pivotal third inning to seize momentum. Avery Fisher sparked the rally with a two-run double, while Abbigale Jones followed with a two-run double of her own, turning an early deficit into a 4–1 advantage. Albany State's offense tallied 11 hits in the contest, highlighted by Arianah McKenzie's 3-for-4 performance and Jones' perfect 3-for-3 day with two RBIs. In the circle, Savannah Barr earned the win, allowing just one run on four hits across five steady innings. Despite a late push by the Lady Eagles, Albany State's defense held firm, preserving the 6–4 decision.

Albany State quickly took control of the game by scoring early. The pressure they applied overwhelmed Baptist University of Florida, which struggled to respond. The Lady Golden Rams' offense was explosive, with Avery Fisher leading the charge by hitting a three-run home run in the first inning, which set the tone for the game. Albany State finished with eight runs and eleven hits. Fisher had a standout performance with four RBIs, while Arianah McKenzie contributed with two hits and two RBIs. Erielle Reid also shone, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate. In the circle, McKenzie Fitch was dominant, throwing five shutout innings and allowing only three hits to clinch the win.
 
With complete control from start to finish, Albany State sealed the shutout victory, punctuating the day with authority.
