ASU Women's Basketball Announces 'Education Day'

ALBANY, Ga. -- A special afternoon of college hoops around the holidays. Albany State University women's basketball announces a special 'Education Day' for all area elementary school age children!

ASU is offering all elementary school children FREE admission to all students and their chaperones for the Thursday, December 17, at 12 p.m. women's basketball game against Allen University in the ASU West Campus Arena.

In the Lady Golden Rams to bring great positive activities to the area's children and help enhance their education experiences. We've intentionally scheduled the game for noon to allow schools to enjoy the experience while providing flexibility for students to return to their respective campuses in time for afternoon dismissal.

Since we're hosting this event during lunch hour, all schools will be able to bring sacked lunches for their students. Options for sacked lunches packaged by Albany State will also be an option. Concessions will be open as well during this event.

Education Day is an opportunity to introduce our young people to the college experience while enjoying an exciting afternoon of basketball, school spirit, and fun!

The game will feature fun activities for students, a special appearance by Sam the Ram and a Teacher Knockout Contest at halftime!

To help us prepare, we ask that participating schools complete a brief RSVP form by Friday, November 13.

Admission is absolutely FREE!
