Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lady Golden Rams Dominate Kentucky State, Roll to 76–44 Home Victory

Albany, Ga. — The Albany State women's basketball team continued its impressive surge Thursday afternoon, delivering a commanding 76–44 win over the Thorobreds of Kentucky State to improve to 8–3 overall and 7–3 in SIAC play. The victory extended the Lady Golden Rams' win streak to six games, as Albany State controlled the contest from start to finish on its home floor.

Albany State set the tone early with defensive pressure and balanced scoring, holding Kentucky State in check while steadily building momentum. After a measured opening quarter, the Lady Golden Rams found their rhythm on both ends of the floor, using transition opportunities and paint touches to create separation before halftime.

The game fully tilted in Albany State's favor in the second half. The Lady Golden Rams outworked the Thorobreds on the glass and turned defense into offense, scoring 31 points off turnovers and adding 18 fast-break points. Their presence inside was especially effective, accounting for 46 points in the paint, while the bench provided a major spark with 26 points.

Na'Haviya Paxton and Jada Morgan led the way with 15 points apiece, pacing a well-balanced offensive attack. Paxton added four steals and four assists, creating havoc defensively and pushing the tempo, while Morgan finished efficiently at the rim and knocked down key free throws to keep the pressure on.

Paris Triplett anchored the interior with a strong all-around performance, pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with seven points and two assists. Tiffani Goodman filled the stat sheet with seven points, four assists, and six steals, helping disrupt Kentucky State's offensive flow throughout the afternoon.

Off the bench, Khyla Ragins delivered an energetic lift, scoring 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting, while several others contributed timely minutes as Albany State steadily widened the gap. The Lady Golden Rams finished the day shooting 46.2 percent from the field, showcasing efficiency and patience on offense.

With the outcome well in hand late, Albany State closed the game with composure, continuing to defend and share the basketball until the final horn sounded.
