Albany, Ga. – Albany State University head football coach Quinn Gray Sr. is proud to announce the addition of Glenn Davis to the Golden Rams coaching staff as the new cornerbacks Coach for the 2025 season.
Davis brings over 20 years of coaching experience at the collegiate, professional, and high school levels, along with a reputation for developing elite secondaries and building championship-caliber defenses. Most recently, he served as the Linebackers Coach at Wayne State University, where he helped lead multiple All-GLIAC performers and guided standout linebacker Carl Ware to a top-three finish in multiple defensive statistical categories. Davis also played a key role in one of the biggest turnarounds in Robert Morris University history as their Defensive Pass Game Coordinator and Cornerbacks Coach, contributing to a top-10 national FCS ranking in passing efficiency defense in 2019.
Davis has also held coaching roles at Savannah State, Northern Michigan, IMG Academy, Youngstown State, and South Florida, with several of his defensive units ranking among the top in the nation in pass defense and total defense. A proven recruiter and player developer, Davis has coached numerous All-Conference selections, All-Americans, and professional prospects throughout his career.
A four-year starter at cornerback for the University of South Florida, Davis helped establish USF's inaugural football team and made history by recording the program's first-ever interception. His playing career also includes professional stints in the CFL, AFL, and AF2, bringing a wealth of personal experience to the Golden Rams' secondary.
'We're excited to have Coach Davis join the RAMily," said Head Coach Quinn Fordham Gray Sr. "He has a proven track record of building top-notch defensive backfields and is going to make a quick impact. Our players are going to thrive with him leading the way."
Coach Davis holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of South Florida and brings a strong background in recruiting, particularly across Florida and the Southeast. He now joins a talented and energized coaching staff as the Golden Rams prepare for another championship push in 2025.
