Tifton, GA – The Albany State Lady Golden Rams softball team split their two-game series against the Abraham Baldwin Lady Fillies on the road, taking the first game before falling in the second. With the split, Albany State moves to 17-10 on the season, while Abraham Baldwin now stands at 8-18.
Game 1: Abraham Baldwin 7, Albany State 1
The Lady Golden Rams struggled to find their rhythm in the opening contest, as Abraham Baldwin capitalized on early scoring opportunities to take control. The Lady Fillies jumped ahead quickly, plating runs in the early innings while holding Albany State's offense at bay.
Albany State managed to get on the board with a lone run, but the Lady Fillies' pitching remained dominant, limiting the Rams' chances throughout the game. A string of defensive miscues and timely hitting by Abraham Baldwin allowed them to pull away for a convincing 7-1 win.
Game 2: Albany State 4, Abraham Baldwin 1
The Lady Golden Rams regrouped for game two and delivered a strong response, securing a 4-1 victory behind solid pitching and timely hitting. Albany State's offense ignited early, putting pressure on the Lady Fillies' defense and taking a lead they would not relinquish.
