Savannah, GA – The Albany State Golden Rams closed out their regular season with a tough 75-53 loss on the road against the Savannah State Tigers at Tiger Arena. Despite the setback, the Golden Rams (17-11, 14-7 SIAC) secured the No. 3 seed in the upcoming SIAC Tournament and will host Lane College in the first round on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 1 PM at the West Campus Arena.
The Golden Rams started the game strong, keeping pace with the Tigers throughout the first half.
Blaise Wallace led Albany State with 15 points, shooting an efficient 6-for-9 from the field, while
Shakur Poteat contributed 13 points and six rebounds. The Golden Rams trailed by just four points at halftime, 33-29.
For Savannah State, Ayjay Plain was dominant, finishing with a game-high 22 points, six steals, and four three-pointers. Jeremiah Barze added 19 points off the bench, making key plays to help the Tigers pull away late in the game.

Despite the loss, the Golden Rams remain in a strong position heading into the SIAC Tournament. Albany State will host the Lane College Dragons in the first round on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 1 PM at the West Campus Arena. The Rams will look to bounce back and make a deep postseason run as they aim for a conference championship.
