Albany, GA – The Albany State University Golden Rams fought hard but were unable to overcome a second-half surge by Clark Atlanta, falling 83-75 on Greek Night at the Jones Brothers HPER Complex. The loss drops the Golden Rams to 14-9 overall and 11-5 in SIAC play, while the Panthers improve to 15-8 overall and 12-4 in the conference, splitting the season series between the two teams.
In front of an energized crowd, the Golden Rams opened the game with strong defensive pressure and efficient shooting, keeping the contest close. At halftime, Clark Atlanta held a narrow
33-29 lead.
Albany State battled back in the second half, cutting the deficit to as little as two points, but Clark Atlanta's offensive efficiency proved to be the difference.
G'Shan Aldridge led the Golden Rams with 17 points, hitting 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and adding three steals.
Jabari Williams dominated the boards with 13 points and eight rebounds, shooting 6-of-8 from the field.
Shakur Poteat contributed 12 points, five steals, and four assists, playing a key role in keeping Albany State competitive.
Kendale Johnson added 11 points, including three three-pointers, providing a spark from deep.
Blaise Wallace chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds, giving Albany State solid inside production.
Clark Atlanta was led by Jalen Williams, who poured in a game-high 24 points, while Dez'Mond Perkins added 14 points and 3 steals. The Panthers capitalized on 54 points in the paint and forced 16 turnovers, converting them into 14 points.
