ALBANY, Ga. — The Albany State University women's volleyball team continued its winning momentum with a commanding 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-13) sweep over Savannah State University on Tuesday evening inside HPER Gymnasium. The Lady Golden Rams delivered a balanced team effort on both sides of the net, thrilling fans in attendance for the annual Pink Out – Breast Cancer Awareness Match. With the win, Albany State improves to 11-10, 10-2 SIAC; meanwhile, Savannah State drops to 13-5, 9-3 SIAC.

Jarianis Perez led the offensive for Albany State once again, delivering 12 kills, 4 service aces, and 5 digs. Josiya Teague was close behind with 11 kills and was effective at the net. Kaylin Teasley contributed 9 kills and led the team with 5 blocks, strengthening the Lady Golden Rams' front line.

From the service line, MiMi Harris was unstoppable, recording a match-high 5 aces while also contributing 5 assists and steady defensive support. Natalie Onozie orchestrated the offense with 17 assists, and Liannette Burgos chipped in 11 assists, showcasing the depth and efficiency of Albany State's setting unit. On defense, Talia Smith led with 9 digs, with Myra Lopez and Perez each adding 5 to keep Savannah State's attack in check.

The win improves Albany State's record to 10-10 overall and 9-2 in SIAC play, as the Lady Golden Rams continue to solidify their standing among the conference's top programs.

Up Next: Albany State hits the road for a non-conference matchup against Edward Waters University on Thursday, October 23, at 6:00 p.m. in Jacksonville, Fla. The Lady Golden Rams will look to carry their momentum into the Sunshine State as they continue their push through the second half of the season.
