ALBANY, GA – The Albany State University volleyball team put up an intense fight but ultimately fell to Talladega College in four sets, 3-1, in today's match.Albany State falls to
2-3 on the season, while Talladega College improves to
6-4 overall.
The Lady Golden Rams were led by a strong performance from
Jarianis Perez, who recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 13 digs. However, it was not sufficient to secure the win.
Mimi Harris also significantly contributed to the Golden Rams, tallying
16 assists and adding
two service aces to keep Albany State competitive throughout the match.
Despite flashes of solid play, the Golden Rams were unable to keep pace with Talladega's attack. Albany State took the second set, but Talladega's strong play helped them close out the match.
Albany State will look to bounce back in their next match as they diligently continue the season. The team aims to build on its early-season performances and secure another critical win.

Albany State will begin conference play by hosting session one of the SIAC Crossover Tournament, which is scheduled to start on September 20 and conclude on September 21.
