Albany, GA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced their All-SIAC women's volleyball preseason team featuring nine returning players from the 2023 SIAC Women's Volleyball All-Conference team.
Jarianis Perez of Albany State has been honored as the 2024 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. The sophomore player, known for her impressive skills as a middle blocker and outside hitter, has a track record of achievements including Freshman of the Year, All-Tournament honors, and 2023 First Team All-Conference recognition. Last season, she led the Lady Golden Rams in season kills with 314 and also achieved 45 service aces, while ranking second on the team with 317 digs and 43 blocks.
"Although this is only preseason rankings, this is a testament to our commitment and our program's strength. We are excited for what's to come in the upcoming season," says head coach
Verniece Graham. " Both Natalie and Jarianis worked hard last season to be able to achieve these preseason honors. I'm looking for them to do big things this season."
