ALBANY, GA. - The Albany State University Athletics Department inducted 37 student-athletes into Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society (Eta Chapter) on April 29th.
"I am incredibly proud of these student-athletes, several of whom have achieved perfect 4.0 GPAs," remarked Dr. Kristene Kelly, Director of Athletics. "At Albany State, excellence is the standard, and these athletes have truly exemplified that. I am honored to celebrate their outstanding academic accomplishments. A special thank you to Dr. Chinenye Ofodile, our Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR), and Mrs. Shaquana Miller , Assistant AD for Student-Athlete Success and Compliance/SWA for their diligent work in orchestrating this event."
To qualify for induction into Chi Alpha Sigma, student-athletes must be enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university affiliated with either the NCAA or NAIA. Additionally, candidates must have attained at least junior academic status by their fifth semester or seventh quarter, as determined by their institution, and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale.
