Box Score Atlanta, GA – The Albany State Lady Golden Rams wrapped up their regular season in a thrilling, five-set battle against Clark Atlanta, ultimately falling 3-2 in a tightly contested match on Tuesday night. With the loss, the Lady Golden Rams finish the regular season at 17-9 overall and 15-4 in SIAC play, while Clark Atlanta improves to 14-12 and 11-7 in the conference.

Senior Sydney Melton led Albany State with an outstanding performance, recording a match-high 20 kills and 11 digs to keep her team in contention throughout the night. Kennedi Wallace also delivered a strong showing, adding 11 kills and 13 digs, while Talia Smith anchored the defense with 11 digs.

The Lady Golden Rams' setters kept the offense flowing, as Natalie Onozie tallied 24 assists and Mimi Harris contributed 19, helping Albany State build momentum and push the match to a decisive fifth set.

After splitting the first four sets in intense rallies, Clark Atlanta edged out Albany State in the final set, taking the match with a narrow margin. Despite the loss, Albany State displayed resilience and teamwork, putting forth a competitive showing in their last regular season match.

The Lady Golden Rams will now take time to rest and prepare for the 2024 SIAC Championship Tournament, where they'll look to build on a successful regular season and make a strong postseason run.
