The Golden Rams volleyball team opened the 2023 season by competing against extremely stiff competition in the 2023 Georgia College Tournament held in Milledgeville, Georgia. On Friday, the Golden Rams were defeated by Young Harris College and the host team, Georgia College.
In game 1 on Saturday, the Golden Rams lost (3-0) to Southern Wesleyan University. The Golden Rams were defeated (25-21) in set one, (25-16) in set two and (25-21 in set three.
Sydney Melton led the Golden Rams with 10 kills and
Khamari Trotter led with 2 aces.
Kaylin Teasley led with 2 blocks.
Natalie Onozie had 26 assists and 9 digs for the Golden Rams.
In game 2, the Golden Rams were defeated (3-1) by the University of West Georgia. The Golden Rams won set one (25-22). But, the Wolves won set two (25-19), set three (25-12) and set four (25-16).
Khamari Trotter led the Golden Rams with 7 kills and 2 blocks.
Kennedi Wallace led the Golden Rams with 2 aces.
Natalie Onozie led the Golden Rams with 15 assists and 11 digs.
With the loses, the Golden Rams fell to (0-4) on the season.
The Golden Rams will host Auburn University at Montgomery in their home opener at the ASU East Campus Gymnasium at 6:00 pm on Monday, September 4.
