6 Golden Rams Named to the All-SIAC Preseason Football Team

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced their All-SIAC preseason football team at the 2023 SIAC Media Day that was held at the College Football Hall of Fame on Wednesday, July 12, in Atlanta, Georgia.
 
A total of 6 Golden Rams made the All SIAC preseason football team.  Josh Simon and Jaree Turner were named to the All SIAC First Team.  Kamran Ward, Dionte Bonneau, Jalen Pugh and Rashad Jordan were named to the All SIAC Second Team.
 
Josh Simon, an offensive lineman, was a vital member of the Golden Rams offense that featured a high octane rushing and passing attack.  Josh is a senior from Atlanta, Georgia.
 
Jaree Turner was a shutdown corner back for the Golden Rams.  Turner had 21 solo tackles and 3 interceptions with 7 pass break ups.  Jaree is a junior from Ocala, Florida.
 
Kam Ward had 77 carries for 468 yards with 6 touchdowns for the Golden Rams dynamic rushing attack.  Kam is a junior from Ocilla, Georgia.
 
Dionte Bonneau finished with a 140.03 rating and ended the season 73/ 139 for 1229 yards and 8 touchdowns with a long of 93 yards.  Bonneau averaged 136.56 yards passing per game.  Bonneau also rushed for 188 yards and 3 touchdowns with a long of 43 yards.  Bonneau is a senior from Atlanta, Georgia.
 
Jalen Pugh was a terror for opposing offenses in 2022.  Pugh was dominant for the Golden Rams "Dirty Blue" defense.  Pugh appeared in 10 games and finished with 38 tackles.  Pugh had 26 solo tackles and 10 tackles for a loss.  Pugh added 1.5 sacks and 5 QB hurries for the Golden Rams.  Pugh is a junior from Jonesboro, Georgia.

Rashad Jordan averaged 21 yards per return.  Rashad's longest return was 41 yards.  Rashad is a senior from Atlanta, Georgia. 

Albany State makes a triumphant return as a top contender in this year's preseason poll under the guidance of their new head coach, Quinn Gray, Sr. The Golden Rams concluded their 2022 campaign with a solid overall record of 7-3 and a conference record of 5-2.
