The Albany State University Golden Rams and Florida A&M University Rattlers will collide in a much anticipated showdown in Tallahassee, Florida on Saturday, September 10. The game will kickoff at 6:00 pm at Bragg Memorial Stadium.
The Golden Rams have lost 11 of their 14 meetings against the Rattlers. But, they are currently on a two game winning streak against FAMU. The Golden Rams won the last meeting (14-6) in 1993 and (34-2) in 1986.
The Golden Rams are (1-0) after defeating Mississippi College in the season opener. The Golden Rams used a strong 2
nd half defensively to defeat the Mississippi Choctaws (28-14) at the Albany State Coliseum.
In the season opener,
Dionte Bonneau was 13-22 for 161 yards and 1 touchdown.
Joe Shorter had 2 catches for 72 yards and 1 touchdown.
Marcuis Fulks had 16 carries for 115 yards and 1 touchdown.
The FAMU Rattlers are (0-2) after losses to the University of North Carolina and Jackson State University.
In game one, Florida A&M traveled to North Carolina minus 20 players and three starters and eventually lost (56-24) against the Tar Heels. Despite the adversity, the Rattlers fought hard against the Tarheels from the ACC. Entering the 4
th quarter, the score was (35-24).
For the second year in a row, the Rattlers lost to Jackson State in the Orange Blossom Classic. Jackson State beat FAMU (59-3).
On the season, Jeremy Moussa is 41-70-2 for 445 yards. Xavier Smith leads the team in receiving with 14 catches for 104 yards. Terrell Jennings is the leading rusher with 18 carries for 71 yards.
