For the second time this season, the Golden Rams defeated a team from the Gulf South Conference. Using a balanced attack, the Golden Rams defeated the Shorter Hawks (42-20).
Dionte Bonneau passed for 246 yards and 2 touchdowns while the Golden Rams rushed 42 times for 279 yards.
Marcuis Fulks led the Golden Rams in rushing with 16 carries for 119 yards.
The Golden Rams took an early lead when
Dionte Bonneau scored on a 43 yard run. The touchdown capped a 6-play drive that covered 92 yards.
Aljhanod Thomas scored on a 1-yard run that extended the Golden Rams lead in the 1
st quarter to (14-0). The drive covered 68 yards in 7 plays.
The Hawks scored on a 79 yard pass to Dorian Anderson from Aeneas Dennis. The drive was 2 plays and 75 yards. That cut the Golden Rams lead to (14-7).
The Golden Rams increased their lead to (21-7) after
Dionte Bonneau scored on a 1-yard run to cap a 9-play drive for 75 yards.
Once again, the Hawks responded with a scoring drive that covered 13 plays for 70 yards. The Hawks cut the lead to (21-14) when John Dietl III caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Aeneas Dennis.
The Golden Rams continued to thrive offensively as they would score 21-straight points to break open a close game.
Ralph Lovett caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from
Dionte Bonneau in the 3
rd quarter to extend the Golden Rams lead to (28-14).
Marcuis Fulks scored on a 4-yard run to cap a 6-play drive for 31 yards to give the Golden Rams a (35-14) lead.
Aljhanod Thomas scored his 2
nd touchdown of the game when he caught a 23-yard pass from
Dionte Bonneau to give the Golden Rams a commanding (42-14) lead.
The Hawks would score the final touchdown of the game when Dickerson IV caught an 81-yard pass from Harold Cook. The PAT was blocked by the Golden Rams.
The Dirty Blue defense held the Hawks rushing attack to 137 yards. The Hawks entered the game averaging over 260 yards rushing per game.
Defensively,
Stephan Pierre and
Arinze Okwu led the Golden Rams with 8 and 7 tackles, respectively.
Jalen Pugh finished with 2 tackles for a loss for the Golden Rams.
Malachi Brown had an interception in the game.
