The Albany State Golden Rams women's basketball team 2-game winning streak came to a halt as they were defeated (75-58) by the Columbus State Cougars at the ASU West Campus. The Golden Rams fell to (2-2) overall while the Columbus State Cougars improved to (3-1). With the win, the Cougars have now won 3-straight games.
The Golden Rams started slow and trailed (17-9) after the 1
st quarter. The Cougars extended their lead to (43-25) at the half. The 18-point halftime deficit was too much to overcome for the Golden Rams as they fell (75-58) to the Cougars.
The Golden Rams shot 22/61 (36.1%) from the field in the game. The Golden Rams connected on 3/14 (21.4%) from the 3-point line. The Golden Rams also made 11/27 (40.7%) attempts from the free throw line in the game. The Golden Rams also committed 28 turnovers.
The Golden Rams were led by their dynamic duo on the inside. Unique Miller finished with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Juanisha Black finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds. It was Black's 3
rd double-double of the season.
The Cougars had 3 players in double figures. Simone Lett lead the Cougars with 12 points. Olivia West finished with 12 points (3-8 from the 3 point line). Amber Abusbeih contributed with 10 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds for the Cougars.
The Golden Rams will play Spring Hill College at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 26, in Mobile, Alabama.
