The Albany State Golden Rams won their 4
th straight game after defeating the Edward Waters Tigers (55-7) on Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida. The Golden Rams improved to (5-1, 3-0 in the SIAC) while the Tigers fell to (1-5, 1-4 in the SIAC).
Joe Shorter returned the opening kickoff for a 90-yard touchdown to silence the crowd at the Glover Community Field & Stadium. After a pick 6 by the Tigers Ahmaud Jordan, the Golden Rams would score 48 unanswered points.
Offensively, the Golden Rams accumulated 549 yards of total offense. The Golden Rams passed for 325 yards through the air and rushed for 224 yards on the ground.
Dionte Bonneau finished 11 of 18 for 293 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Kam Ward had 6 carries for 63 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Marcuis Fulks finished with 11 carries for 61 yards and 1 touchdown.
Jamill Williams led the Golden Rams in receiving with 5 receptions for 87 yards.
Rashad Jordan finished with 64 yards and 1 touchdown while
Cameron Hopkins added a receiving touchdown.
The Albany State "Dirty Blue" defense held the Edward Waters Tigers to 94 yards of total offense. The Tigers finished the game with 44 passing yards and 50 rushing yards. The Golden Rams held the Tigers to a dismal 1.7 yards per rushing attempt.
