ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany State University women's basketball team suffered a 67-49 loss to the Wildcats of Fort Valley State University this evening.
With the win the Wildcats improve to 5-5. Albany State drops to 0-11.
The Golden Rams finished the contest with 38 rebounds while Fort Valley State collected 53.
Kierra York and
Bri'elle Johnson led the Golden Rams with contributed 13 points each respectively.
Albany State University started the game closing out the first quarter trailing 12-8. The Golden Rams outscored the Wildcats in the second quarter adding 20 points with the score tied 28 all at the half. ASU started the third quarter taking a 31-28 lead on a free throw by
Edith Gordon with 8:36 left.
Trailing 37-35, FVSU made a 3-point play to push 38-37. ASU answered with the next basket to regain the short lead, 39-38. The Wildcats then added 21 points in the fourth quarter to the Golden Rams seven to take the victory.
The Golden Rams will return to action on March 3
rd as they host the Wildcats of Fort Valley State University. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
