VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Albany State University softball team fell to the Blazers of Valdosta State in a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday at Steel's Diamond. The Blazers won the opener 15-0 and the nightcap 9-2.
The Blazers opened the contest with adding one run to take a 1-0 advantage. The Golden Rams remained scoreless the entire contest. Valdosta State added two runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 3-0 lead. The Blazers plated nine runs in the third inning to take an 12-0 lead. In the fourth inning the Blazers added three runs to cruise to a 15-0 victory. The Golden Rams finished the contest with two hits.
In the nightcap with one out in the bottom of the first, a walk and a hit by pitch put two on as the Blazers singled up the middle for an RBI and a 1-0 lead. VSU then added another run to take a 2-0 lead to close out the first.
The Blazers then pushed the lead to 3-0 and an RBI ground out made the score 4-0.
ASU's (0-6)
Glory Seay took Lamb deep to left field cutting the Blazer lead to 4-2 in the top of the fourth with no outs. Seay secured her first home run of the season. In the bottom of the inning the Blazers added a run for a 5-2 score. VSU then added four runs in the remaining innings to take the 9-2 victory.
Offensively in the nightcap, ASU tallied two runs on three hits. Seay was 1 for 2 with a run scored and two RBIs. She had a home.

The Golden Rams will next travel to Savannah, Georgia for doubleheader matchups against the Tigers of Savannah State University on March 20-21st. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
