ALBANY, Ga. – A strong first half led the Benedict College Lady Tigers over Albany State University, 85-52, on Senior Day this afternoon in a SIAC women's basketball game.
Benedict improves to 23-3 overall and 14-2 in the SIAC. Albany State falls to 6-19 overall and 3-11 in the SIAC.

Alexandria James led the Golden Rams with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting. James also contributed six rebounds.
Ciera Norman added nine points.
Ay'Anna Bey led the Lady Tigers with 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Bey also added a team-high nine rebounds. Shanassia Whiteadded 11 points, seven assists, and eight rebounds, while Amaya Ashby contributed with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Bey scored 15 of her 22 points in the first half, helping to give Benedict a 46-23 lead heading into halftime. Albany State went on an 8-0 run from the end of the second quarter to the beginning of the third to close the gap to 46-28 with 08:59 remaining in the third.
The Lady Tigers continued to pull away from the Golden Rams, extending their lead to a game-high 35 points just before the end of the fourth quarter.
Benedict outscored Albany State 38-5 in points off turnovers, while also holding a 49-10 advantage in bench scoring.
