MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Albany State University (ASU) came out of the halftime break with a purpose, but the first-half hole was too much to dig out of as LeMoyne-Owen College (LOC) handed the Golden Rams a 80-64 loss tonight.
The Magicians (8-4, 4-2 SIAC) led by as much as 19 points in the opening frame, but second-half full-court pressure from the Golden Rams (7-8, 4-2 SIAC) helped ASU whittle into that advantage in a hurry.
Titus Burns secured a deep 3-pointer to cut the lead to 14 with 14 minutes to play.
Albany State would cut the LOC lead to 13 points on a dunk by
Victor Robinson at the 6:51 mark.
Randy McClure closed out the scoring for the Golden Rams securing a jumper with 00:19 seconds left in the contest. Host LOC used a cushion to cruise to the 80-64 victory.

Randy McClure's 22 points.
Victor Robinson added 11 points, two assists and three rebounds.
ASU finished the contest shooting 38.5% (25-of-65) from the floor and 66.7% (8-of-12) from the free throw line. ASU secured 22 points off LeMoyne-Owen College turnovers. LOC outrebounded ASU, 36-30.
Tyrone Banks led LOC with a season-high 20 points and five rebounds. Devin Booker finished with 16 points and two rebounds.
The Golden Rams will return to action traveling to Fairfield, Alabama on Jan. 6 for a SIAC matchup against Miles College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
