MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Albany State softball team traveled to Alabama on Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader with the Warhawks of Auburn University-Montgomery.
Game 1
AUM scored runs in every at-bat of the first contest, pushing four across in the 1st inning en route to a 9-0 victory.
ASU managed just three baserunners for the game.
Aryn McGowan had the only hit for the Golden Rams and Lavette Tucker earned a walk.
McGowan (1-4) struck out four batters over 4.0 innings while giving up seven earned runs on nine hits. Â
Game 2
The Warhawks got off to another quick start in the second game of the twin bill, scoring two runs on two hits and one Albany State error in the 1st on their way to a 7-1 win.
McGowan had the lone run in the game, a solo home run to left center field in the top of the 4th.
Tucker finished 2-for-3 with a triple.
Lauren Lowery (1-4) pitched 6.0 innings and struck out two.
ASU (2-8) will travel to Columbus, Ga. this weekend to play in the CSU Cougar Classic. The Golden Rams will play two games on Friday: Embry-Riddle at 4:00 pm followed by a contest with the host, Columbus State at 6:30 pm.
