ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany State University (ASU) men's basketball team yielded a 68-53 decision to the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University tonight at the West Campus Arena.
The Golden Rams (3-6, 1-0 SIAC East) built an 22-18 lead with 6:26 remaining until halftime as the Golden Tigers began to come alive shooting 13-of-22 out of the gate. By halftime, the Tuskegee held a 34-29 advantage.
From that point the Golden Tigers controlled the lead never looking back to cruise to a 68-53 victory.
Randy McClure of the Golden Rams had 19 points as ASU shot 36.2% (17-47) from the floor and 13% (3-23) from 3-point distance while losing 10 turnovers to four Golden Tiger steals. The Golden Rams knocked down 64% (16-25) of their free throw opportunities.
The Golden Rams will next host Georgia Southwestern University on Thursday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m. for a non-conference game at the West Campus Arena.
