ALBANY, Ga. | Albany State won their fifth straight game on Sunday afternoon and took sole possession of first place in the SIAC East. The Golden Rams took down Fort Valley State 3-1 (25-18, 10-25, 25-16, 25-23).Â
Albany State (10-13, 10-4) moved a half game ahead of Clark Atlanta with just two regular season contests remaining before the conference tournament.Â
Jordyn Terrell posted her best game of the season for the Golden Rams as she collected 14 kills. Yadira Lyons had 12 kills and Jannai Cheeks added 11 kills. Ciara Chapman was credited with 39 assists in the victory.
Nia Bell had 12 kills and three blocks for Fort Valley State (4-16, 3-10).
Albany State next plays on Tuesday, October 30th, when they travel to Benedict. The Golden Rams took the first game this season against the Tigers earlier this month, 3-0. Game time is set for 6:00 pm.
