Lady Rams fall in SIAC Tournament to Miles College

HEPHZIBAH, Ga.- The Albany State women's softball team saw its season end with a third place finish. ASU lost to Miles College 4-2 in the loser's bracket of the 2017 SIAC Women's Softball Tournament.
 
The loss gives the Lady Rams an overall record of 25-23. Miles advanced to the championship game where it lost to Claflin University 13-5.
 
After two scoreless innings, Albany State fell behind in the top of the third when Miles scored two runs. ASU tied the game in the fourth. Malea Maye scored a run, and Toni Coleman went home off Lavette Tucker's single to center field.
 
However, the Lady Bears scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to take the victory.
 
Maye and Tucker led Albany State with two hits each. The Lady Rams recorded five hits, two errors and four runners left on base. Tiffany Massey was the losing pitcher.
