BALANCED SCORING LEADS LADY BOBCATS PAST ALBANY STATE 63-56

ALBANY- Georgia College placed four players in double figures as the Lady Bobcats pushed past Albany State University 63-56 Saturday night at West Campus Arena.
The Lady Bobcats even their record at .500 at 4-4 overall while Albany State falls to 5-6 on the season.
Sydney Cleveland and Erin Drynan scored 12 points apiece while Alyah McGriff posted a double-double of 11 and 10. Sadie Cleveland also chipped in with 11 points.
Kayla Green was the only Lady Golden Ram to register double figures with 15 points.
The Bobcats' offense was efficiently effortless on the evening, as they assisted on 21 of their 26 made field goals. They shot 50% in the first quarter and 45% in the second in route to a 36-31 halftime advantage.
The Lady Golden Rams turned up their defensive effort in the third quarter, holding the Bobcats to just 29% shooting from the floor. ASU faced a 7 point deficit in the third but charged back midway through the final quarter and on a three-pointer from
Tyra Thompson claimed their first lead since the opening quarter, 51-49. With 6:56 remaining, two free throws from Green gave the Lady Rams a four point edge but Georgia College responded with an 11-0 run to close out the final quarter and clinch the win.
The Bobcat finished the game with a slight advantage in points in the paint (26-20) and bested ASU in rebounding (+6) 43-37.
The Lady Golden Rams will hit the road on December 12
th as a part of a non-conference doubleheader at Georgia Southwestern on December 12
th in Americus, Georgia. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00pm.
