Lady Ram Softball falls to Palm Beach Atlantic

WEST PALM BECH, Fla.- The Albany State women's softball team had trouble generating enough runs to pull out two victories on Monday afternoon. As a result, ASU dropped a pair of games to the Palm Beach Atlantic Lady Sailfish by the scores of 3-0 and 5-2.
 
With the losses, ASU is now 10-18 overall. PBA improves to 18-12.

After PBA took a 1-0 lead after the first inning, Albany State had difficulty scoring. The Lady Rams were cold at bat, while the home team added two more runs.
 
The Lady Rams recorded three hits and committed three errors. Tiffany Massey (4-11) took the mound loss.
 
 
Palm Beach Atlantic 5, Albany State 2
 
After the Lady Sailfish took a 5-0 lead through five innings, ASU made its rally in the top of the sixth inning. Malea Maye and Toni Coleman each hit homeruns to cut their team's deficit. The Lady Rams were able to hold Palm Beach Atlantic scoreless the rest of the way, but they could not put any more points on the scoreboard.
 
Massey led the Lady Rams with two hits. The team collected six hits and committed four errors. Taylor Clemens was the losing pitcher.
 
Albany State returns to action on Tuesday, Mar. 22 when it travels to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. to face Nova Southeastern University. The doubleheader is scheduled for 5 and 7 p.m.
