Lady Rams Softball falls to Tuskegee

JASPER, Ala.- The Albany State women's softball made a late rally, but the team could not snatch victory for defeat. ASU dropped a close 3-2 decision to the Tuskegee University Tigerettes in the 2016 SIAC Women's Softball Crossover Tournament. With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 8-16 overall and 6-4 in the SIAC.
 
Tuskegee, winners of the SIAC tournament championship in 2014 and 2015, improves to 6-20, 6-1.
 
Tuskegee took the early advantage in the bottom of the second inning. The Tigerettes scored three runs to put Albany State into an early deficit.
 
ASU remained scoreless until the top of the fifth inning. Tiffany Massey scored off a Tuskegee error, and Malea Maye added another run to cut the deficit to 3-2. However, the Lady Rams could not muster any more runs in the final two innings.
 
The Lady Rams collected four hits and committed one error.
 
Albany State will play its final two games in the crossover on Saturday. ASU will face Lane College at 10 a.m. before playing Stillman College at 2 p.m. Both start times are central.
