Lady Rams losing streak continues after loss to Tampa

ALBANY, Ga.- The Albany State women's basketball team was unable to snap its winning streak in its trip to Florida. ASU lost his fifth straight game after an 89-52 setback to the University of Tampa.
 
The loss gives the Lady Rams a 1-9 overall record to take into the holiday break. Tampa improves to 7-3.
 
Albany State found itself down early and could not muster a serious run to get back into contention. The Lady Rams trailed 24-7 after the first period, and 22-8 after the second to trail 46-15 at halftime. The Lady Spartans outscored ASU 19-15 in the third to take a 65-30 edge.
 
Elesha Foster led Albany State with 12 points and six rebounds, and Zuri Frost recorded 11 points  and five rebounds. Ciera Norman added 11 more.
 
The Lady Rams shot 20-of-52 (33.9%) from the field, 3-of-21 (14.3%) from three-point range and 9-of-16 (56.3%) from the free throw line.
 
For Tampa, Faith Sanders scored a game-high 20 points and added five rebounds. Elena De Alfredo netted 15 points, Griffin Dempsey added 12 points and Karma Jeremie had 10.
 
The Lady Spartans shot 35-of-59 (59.3%) from the field, (14-of-29) from three-point range and 5-of 9 from the free throw line.
 
Albany State will return to action on Dec. 29 when it travels to Frankfort, Ky to face the Kentucky State University.
