Game Day RAM-blings- Albany State vs. Miles College (2015 SIAC Championship Game)

The Albany State Golden Rams and Miles College Golden Bears are set to meet in the 2015 SIAC Championship Game at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. This will be the 51st meeting between the two programs, with Albany State leading the overall series 36-11-3. The Golden Rams have won the last three games in the series: 17-14 in the 2013 SIAC Championship game; 14-7 in 2014; and 29-16 during the 2015 regular season. This will mark the third time the two programs have met in the SIAC title game since the contest's inception in 2011.

Last week, Albany State won its fifth straight game, defeating archrival Fort Valley State 21-17 to win the SIAC East Division title. Wide receiver Devonta Osborne had eight receptions for a career-high 137 yards. Quarterback Caleb Edmonds threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns. Linebacker Tavarius Washington led the team defensively with nine tackles, and Zavondric Shingleton added another 6.5 tackles.

Miles pulled off a mild upset last week against Tuskegee to win the SIAC West Division title. After trailing 20-3 in the third quarter, the Golden Bears exploded in the remaining time to defeat the Golden Tigers 26-23. Quarterback David Whipple led the charge with 174 rushing yards and 78 passing yards.
