Lady Rams Volleyball drop season openers to Valdosta State, Lynn

Valdosta, Ga.- The Albany State Lady Rams opened the 2014 season with a pair of losses. ASU dropped its first match of the season to in-state rival Valdosta State 3-0 (25-11, 25-11 and 25-8). The Lady Rams followed that contest with a 3-0 defeat to Lynn University (25-9, 25-21 and 25-14). With the setbacks, Albany State begins the season with an 0-2 record.
 
In the match against VSU, Jennifer Evans and Alexus Manning led ASU with three kills apiece. Setter Tiffany Roesler recorded eight assists, and Kaliah Carter added 10 digs.
 
Kristen Randolph led the way against Lynn with eight kills. Evans added five more, while Roesler had 19 assists. Carter added 11 digs.
 
Albany State returns to action on September 8th when they travel to Mount Vernon, Georgia to face Brewton Parker College. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
