Lady Rams fall to Florida Tech on the road

Melbourne, FL- Junior Keidra Green recorded 16 points and six rebounds, but the Albany State Lady Rams lost to the Florida Tech Lady Panthers 99-70. With the loss, ASU falls to 0-3 on the season. The Lady Panthers improve to 6-0.
 
The game was close in the early going. Albany State only trailed 12-8 at the 13:53 mark in the first half. However, an 8-2 run by Florida Tech over the next two minutes pushed the lead to double digits at 20-10.
 
Trailing 26-14 with 9:37 left to play in the half, the Lady Rams used a 7-0 run over the next 90 seconds to cut their deficit to 26-21.  The Lady Panthers pushed their lead back to double figures for the rest of the half. ASU went into intermission down 52-40.
 
In the second half, Albany State's deficit continued to grow. Florida Tech, who shot a whopping 47 free throws during the game, used the large disparity to help build its advantage and send ASU to its third straight defeat.
 
Mecca Frost added 10 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Lady Rams. Artisha Holston chipped in with eight points and six rebounds, despite being in foul trouble for most of the game.
 
Albany State shot 22 of 51 (43.1) from the field, one of 12 (8.3) from three-point range, and 25 of 35 from the free throw line. The Lady Rams recorded 10 steals but committed 24 turnovers.
 
Albany State returns to action on Tuesday, December 9th when it travel to Columbus, Georgia for a rematch with the Columbus State Lady Cougars. CSU won the initial meeting 63-44. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
