Lady Rams defeat Paine in "Think Pink" Game

Albany, Ga.- Chelona Holmes had a game-high 14 kills to lead the Albany State Lady Rams to a 3-1 (25-17, 16-25, 25-23 and 25-22) victory over SIAC foe Paine College Lions in the team's annual "Think Pink" Game.
 
The contest was centered around the promotion of Breast Cancer Awareness, and the Lady Rams played in pink uniforms to show their support against the fight against the disease. With the win, ASU improves to 9-6 overall and 7-3 in the SIAC. The Lady Lions drop to 9-14, 6-6.
 
Setter Tiffany Roesler recorded a double-double with 36 assists and 15 digs. Jennifer Evans added nine kills and 21 digs. Justice Howard had eight kills and Tamara Dorsey contributed five digs and 12 kills. Kaliah Carter also had another 11 digs.
 
Albany State returns to action on Saturday, October 11th when they face the Benedict College Lady Tigers at the ASU HPER Gymnasium. Benedict won this season's initial contest 3-2. Game time is set for 10 a.m.
