Malea Maye is the Female Athlete of the Week after being named the SIAC Women's Softball Player of the Week.
Maye, a senior infielder from Marietta, Ga., hit .583 for the Golden Rams (22-17 overall, 17-2 SIAC) who finished 3-2 last week against Emmanuel College and Fort Valley State. She finished the week with eight runs, one double, one triple, and 12 RBIs. Maye had seven hits within five games last week, three of which were home runs.
After this past weekend, Maye ranks first in RBIs (62), RBIs per game (1.59) and total bases (126).
Maye is also in the NCAA Top 10 in several other categories. She is second in total homeruns (17), homeruns per game (0.44) and slugging percentage (1.041). Maye is also sixth in runs per game (1.31).
